Week 12

Dear Mommy and Dad,
Did you get the letter that I sent!? I really hope that you did haha. Ah wasn't conference just amazing!! So much spiritual knowledge and enlightenment. I seriously can't believe the power that the leaders of the church have. The spiritual power. It is kinda weird over here because we didn't get to watch the Saturday morning session until 5 p.m. Then we watched Priesthood at 10 am sunday morning Saturday evening session at 1 pm and then Sunday morning session at 5 pm so it was all pretty weird haha. WE don't get to hear the sunday afternoon so we have to wait for the Ensign which is a little bit frustrating haha. And we have to go to the chapel to watch it. We don't get to sit on the couch in our pj's haha. I think it makes it a better experience though. I am glad that everyone is surviving!! I hope that Gage is doing alright as well as Em and I am so happy that we beat Altamont! That is always good haha.
Dad You are probably going to be married by the time you read this so congrats! I am so happy for you. And I want you to know how very grateful I am that you are my Father. You have taught me so many valuable things so far in my life and you have so many tremendous qualities that I pray to obtain in this life. You're willingness to work hard and help others is incredible. You are a great Dad and I know I speak for all the kids when I say that I love you with all my heart!
Mom you are right haha I should have listened to you more! I am so grateful that I packed the things that I didn't want to pack but that you made me. I should have knew you had that motherly intuition;) You are the best mother ever! And I am so grateful for everything that you have done for me. I am sorry that I didn't give you Near the praise that you deserved. You are a great MOM:)
It has been a tremendous week. We have truly seen the hand of the Lord in our area. We have been praying very fervently and working hard as we have strived to push discouragement aside and press forward. This week during our finding, we were doing some tracting with little success so we decided to stop and pray. Right at the close of the prayer this lady named louise walked by us and we began to talk to her. We had a lesson on the spot and she invited us to come to her house sometime to teach her and her partner. It was such a miracle! The next day on our way to have a lesson with a former investigator, I had a prompting to talk to this young lady. We began to talk and learned that she was American. She had been taught by missionaries about a year ago and was about to be baptised but her dad wouldn't allow it. She said she feels like she wants to learn more and wants to begin meeting with us again! Another great miracle. The next night as we were riding our bikes home after an appointment, we ran into this young man named Jay that we had street contacted 2 weeks earlier and given him a Book of Mormon. He told us that he had read the book and he wants to know more! So exciting. The next day we went to his house and taught him about the Book of Mormon and Prayer. Another tremendous miracle! He became a new investigator. So many great experiences and I have complete Faith that they have all come because of mighty prayer. I feel closer to my Savior and my Father in Heaven more now then ever in my life. As I have began studying the Atonement, I have realized aspects to Christ's life that I have never noticed before that manifest the true love he had for us and His Father to carry out the plan. He could have called down legions of Angels to help him and protect him at any instant as it says in Matthew 26. But He didn't because it would have disrupted the plan. I am so grateful unto my Savior and I want to continue to work on having a personal relationship with him and my Heavenly Father.
Conference was soooooo great! I view conference in such a different light being on a mission. I wish I would have taken better advantage of it when I was back home. I was able to take 16 pages of notes but my hand just couldn't keep up with my mind! The leaders of this Church are completely inspired and I am so grateful for them and the burden that they bare in leading and guiding the Church in these latter days. From President Uchtdorf I learned that 'Gaining a testimony and Spiritual Knowledge is a life long quest.' I learned from Elder Anderson that 'Opposition to the ways of God sends seekers of truth to their knees.' I know this to be true with all of my heart. Oh and right after conference, we got a random phone call from this man named Sam and he said that he wants to meet with us and learn more about the church!! How amazing. I Testify that Jesus is the Christ and that He is at the head of the church watching over us. I know that my Heavenly Father is there and that He loves us. I also testify of the Power of Prayer. It is a real power and I do so in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.
We have been having some trouble with Jesse lately because he was offended by a member at church. He didn't come to church or conference with us. We just started over and talked about what He knew to be true and that the Church and the Gospel are perfect but it is run by very imperfect people. He is doing better now and He is going to Seminary again. Prayers have been answered.
The members here are really good and  they really help. The members are key to the work of Salvation! Don't be afraid to help the missionaries or just invite them over for a quick lesson. The Spirit can be power and we are so uplifted by the members at every appointment we have!
Thank you so much for all that you do. I love you with all of my heart and I hope that you all have a great week.

PS I would love some letters from home:)

Love
Elder Wilcox
