Hey guys!!!!!!!! Oh I have been so anxious to email you! I didn't find out P day was on wednesday until a couple of days ago. And just a heads up, I might not get to email you again until a week from this coming Monday because we go to the mission homenext wednesday and then I think P day is on Monday in the field so just so you know. I miss you guys a lot. Im not gonna lie, the first 2 days were really hard. I was jet-lagged so stinkin bad and we got right to work when we got here. I felt really out of place the first couple of days. It's kind of that stage where everyone is trying to figure each other out and learn where they fit in.
I freakin love it now! It is seriously so beautiful here and the weather has been fantastic the entire time. We do have to wear our suit coats every single day so it gets kinda hot in our classrooms. My companion is Elder W. I'll send you some pictures of him. He reminds me a lot of Jake A. He's from Preston Idaho....he is a great companion!
We sleep for 8 hours and the other 16 we are constantly doing something. P day is a little weird because Im notsure what to do with myself so I just did laundry haha. I have met so many awesome Elders here!! There's one from Richfield named Elder T....that played football and me and him went at it during the season pretty good but we are such good friends haha. There's another Elder from Logan, Elder N. He was their QB and he's so tight!
Our President, President Edwards is a way awesome guy. He used to be a member of the seventy. And his wife is so sweet!
The food here is alright. I mean everything is edible and i can't complain haha.
This has been a really big learning and humbling experience for me so far. I have been learning more this past week about the Gospel then I ever thought possible. Scriptures are starting to come to my mind more easily and a verse usually pops into my head when we have subjects to talk about. We were teaching this investigator about the restoration. I have recited Joseph Smith's vision over 100 times but when I said it to Adam, the investigator, it became so real to me. I was overwhelmed with the spirit and I knew without a doubt that Joseph Smith saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and that he restored the Gospel. It was so amazing.
The Book of Mormon is soooooooo important! to EVERYONE! I encourage you both to read it and tell everyone else as well. And read it with a question in your head and write it down. Read with purpose and it will bless every aspect of your life. I love the Book of Mormon and I know with all of my heart that it is true. I have also had some hard experiences with an investigtor where they want nothing to do with what we have to say. Thats really hard because we know how much the gospel can bless them and we just want them to see a sliver of it! The key is to relate it to something they cherish in their life. And love them with everything I have.
My companion is the District leader. It's so weird always having someone with you. Everything you do!! It also provides a sense of security the and in the scriptures it states that the gospel will be preached, two by two. Obedience is also huge. Some rules we have, I have no idea why we have them but I know if i want to become the best missionary possible I need to have exact obedience as did the 2000 stripling warriors.
Well I better get going. I love you guys so much and hopefully I will be able to email you next Wednesday! Tell everyone I love them.
Love
Elder Wilcox
