Week 26

Hey Mom and Dad:)
Oh I love you both so much and it is so good to hear from you! Thank you for finding out about that card. I will just send it some sometime soon with the clothes that I don't need. I brought way too many P day clothes that I never wear ha. I am always in my proselyting stuff or my pajamas haha. There is no such thing as P day clothes. Mom I am glad that you liked my story with Belinda! It was truly amazing. We were actually teaching this Less Active this week who has been down a really rough road. He ended up almost taking his life but what stopped him was the fact that he knew that he wasn't ready to meet his Father in Heaven. I was able to tell him my story as well. He told me that he felt like it was for a reason that we had met and he wants to come back to church now! Pretty amazing.
It is good to hear about Brays and how he had some real tough matches. It is hard to bounce back after a loss. I didn't really learn how to do it very well until my senior year haha. Man I love wrestling:) You should send me some videos of Brayson and gages matches. I would love to see them! Gage and his camping hahaha I love that kid. I will always cherish that night that I invited him to come with me and my friends out in dry valley to camp. We had so much fun! Ah man. That kid is in his element when we are camping and I loved it.
Oh and I got a card from Scott and Patty with 20 bucks in it haha it was good to see American money. Tell them I said thank you! I also got one from the Wright's
I am so glad that you are starting to get your feet set mom. I love you so much! Just keep pressing forward and sunshine will come. I can promise you that. Put the Lord first. In my studies this week I was reading the ensign. I never read the Women's Conference section but I felt prompted to. I read a talk called Living the Gospel Joyful by President Uchtdorf and it was so good! I really want to share it with you so if you could read that, I think that you would really like it:) I am so grateful for the guidance we have from apostles and prophets. They are truly men of God.
I am so grateful for Grandpa Bruce as well. He is truly an amazing man and has helped me in so many ways. He has truly entered a higher plane and I am so grateful for the influence he has been in my life. He loves the Lord and he shows it by his actions.
Soooo transfers are this week and sadly Elder B is leaving. He is going to be the Zone Leader down in Newcastle. I am so happy for him! President called me on Friday night and asked me if I would be the new District Leader here in Stockport! AH so crazy. Of course I said yes. My new comp will be Elder Young and I think he is from Canada. It will be a bit weird because he has been out longer then me and I will be the District Leader. It will be great though. I cannot believe that another transfer has gone by. I can't believe that I have been in Stockport for 3 months now! The time is seriously flying and I am not really sure what happened to it. It has been so amazing to serve here with Elder B. He is an amazing missionary and has taught me so many great things. He will be a tremendous Zone Leader. I am very excited and humbled to be called as the District Leader here in Stockport. I am a little bit nervous and feel a bit unprepared but I know that Whom God calls, God qualifies. I am so excited for this wonderful opportunity to serve. It brings joy to my heart. I am excited to be serving with Elder Y and for the amazing experiences that we are going to have together.
The areas within the Stockport District are truly amazing and I believe with all my heart that there are many people, especially families out there ready for baptism. I believe that all areas can produce but there is so much potential here. We just have to do it. I know that this coming transfer that every single companionship can have a baptism if not more. I was pondering what the goals as the District should be to achieve this. I think the 3 pillars of baptism that we learned about in specialized training is so inspired. I know that if we talk with everyone, teach with spiritual power, and continuously invite people to come unto Christ and be baptised, we will have tremendous success. I also want to focus on having daily contact with progressing investigators as well as dated investigators from the missionaries as well as the members.
The individual goals that I have set are to greatly increase my Faith in Jesus Christ as well as strive for exact obedience. I have come up with some practical steps that I can do every week to measure myself on my progress. Faith and Obedience go hand in hand just like all of the Christlike attributes. I believe that as I strengthen one that it will increase the others. I know that I will progress myself when I lose myself in the service of others. When I focus completely on helping others and serving the Lord then my faith will increase and I will have a greater desire to strive for exact obedience. I was reading in Romans 5 and verse 19 talks about how the disobedience of one man can lead many away. Also, the obedience of one man can bring many to the truth. This chapter is talking of Adam and Christ but we must liken all scripture to ourselves. I truly want to be that obedient leader that I know I can and should be.
It has been a great week here in Stockport. We have once again seen many miracles. Bryan Bibby has completely given up smoking now. He had his baptismal interview last Wednesday and he passed. He is scheduled to be baptised this coming Saturday, the 17th. It is very exciting! Him and his wife have already discussed their desire to have a temple marriage. It has been amazing to see the change in Bryan and his surroundings. We are very excited and pray that everything works out for his baptism.
One of our other Investigators, Allee, is progressing pretty well. He reads the Book of Mormon every night and continues to pray. We watched the Restoration video with him and invited him to be baptised. He said that he wants to prove to himself that he can live it before he commits to anything. We promised him that as he puts in his effort that the Lord will help and guide him. He still really needs to receive a spiritual witness for himself so hopefully we can help him have that. It would be great if we could get him to Bryan's baptism this week.
In John 16:33 Christ tells us that we are going to experience tribulations in the world. It is Just a fact of life. A lot of people mistake having a happy life with having no problems at all. If that were true then none of us would become. Even in heaven we are going to be working hard. And there is no greater joy then working for our Heavenly Father. The crowning Characteristic of love is loyalty. Christ also states in that scripture that we must be of good cheer, for he has descended below all. I testify that this is true.
I love you so much and I am so grateful for you and the examples you are to me. I hope that you have an amazing week!!

Love
Elder Wilcox
