Week 8

Dear Mum and Dad,
I can't believe I have already made it through my first transfer! My trainer is getting transferred! I am staying here in Shrewsbury but I am getting a follow-up trainer this wednesday. So crazy to think about!
We had a very busy week. We had a ton of meetings and trainings to go to which were good but took up so much time. Our mission president is amazing and he is a truly inspired man!
I really missed your letter this week Dad! I hope everything is going well. We must always remember that God is our gardener, and sometimes he prunes us so we might become what he wants us to become. Sometimes it really hurts and we don't understand. I feel like that a lot out here but when the storm passes, I can see what the Lord had in store for me. I hope that helps and I wish I could help more but I am doing what I need to do and I have faith that my family will be blessed because of my efforts. If we align our will  and values with God's, everything will turn out. I pray for you all every single day.
Haha we were cycling up this huge hill the other day and my comp was like 'man this is a steep hill' I turned to him and said 'Heck boy, I've graded Iron Stoves up steeper grades then this!' He didn't know the movie but thought it was hilarious!! I thought you would like that one Dad.
I have been studying prayer and what it means almost every single day. When I pray I strive to pray with all energy of heart and truly talk to my Heavenly Father instead of just giving him a rote presentation of the day and asking for what I would like to happen. It has truly made a difference just in the past few days. I have really been able to feel the Spirit more abundantly and I seem to better recognize promptings. I am so grateful for prayer and the power that is behind it.
This week our recent convert, Jesse, was able to attend the temple for the first time. We had been doing some of his family history and he was able to get baptised and confirmed for 6 of his ancestors!! He said it was the most amazing experience. When he got home he told his Nan what they actually did in the temple. She is a strong Roman catholic and she was really touched by Jesse's words, He asked her if she would take the discussions from the missionaries to experience for herself and find the happiness he has felt. We are going to start teaching her on Tuesday!! Such a miracle.
We have had some problems with the girl Sarah that we are teaching. Her mum is still her stumbling block but one day after a lesson she texted her mum and told her she had something to tell her so we were so excited. But right before she told her, one of her friends went to her house and showed her some anti literature which scared her so she didn't talk to her mum. Her testimony was pretty shaken. We are going to have to move her date back but she is progressively feeling better and learning that all that anti literature isn't true.
I really hope that everything works out at home. And I hope that You have a tremendous week! Remember how much I love you all and how grateful I am for every single one of you.

Love
Elder Wilcox
