Week 7

Dear Mum and Dad,
Hey you great ol' parents of mine!!;) hahah Oh I miss you and love you so much! I think about you all everyday and pray that you and our whole family might have physical strength and more importantly SPIRITUAL! I am coming to realize how much satan has a grip on the world right now and how much of an influence he has. We are truly in a battle, in a battle for the salvation of our own souls and our own destiny. The only place we can find safety is in the Gospel!! I thank my Heavenly Father every day for being so blessed to be able to grow up in the Gospel and that I was born of goodly parents to teach me the things I need to know. I love what it says in 1 Timothy 4:12 as well as Alma 37:5. It's such a blessing to grow up in the Gospel and to learn wisdom in our youth. I treasure those 5 things you taught me dad and I am doing my very best to try to learn the other things I need to know, that I might become the man that God needs me to be in this life. I don't think any of us realizes the potential we have. 'A man's greatest fear is that he is powerful beyond measure'. With God, anything is possible. When we align our will, morals, and values with his, we can become the people that he truly wants us to be. We have the potential to become like him and that is so extraordinary. I always find myself talking to fellow missionaries about how there is a time for all things haha just like in Eccl.
I did get your email mum!! So that was good haha. I really hope that everything is going great back home. I'm kinda mad because my nice toothbrush has been being weird and hasn't been working properly. Hopefully I can get it fixed.
Ah I love you both sooo much! I am so grateful for you. I have had the opportunity to use my priesthood a lot lately. There is no experience like using the priesthood when you can feel the Spirit literally with you, guiding you and what to say and having the words just flow out of your mouth. It is truly so amazing The priesthood is the power of heaven. I hold the same priesthood that Jesus Christ holds and that's an amazing thought. It is a real power and can only take effect when the giver and the receiver have the Faith that God is there and that they can be helped. I'm so grateful that I have the opportunity to hold the priesthood and exercise that power and authority.
The young girl we have been teaching, Sarah, has accepted a baptismal date for September 20th.She is still very scared to tell her mum about all of this and she is really nervous about what she will think so we are going to have a fast with her that her mum's heart might be softened and that Sarah might have the opportunity to tell her without contention rising. Hopefully things keep going well with her and that she gets baptised this month!!
We also had a great experience in finding a new investigator. During 4 hour finding, my companion and I had a strong impression to tract this little corner of houses. We tried a few houses and then came to one and a woman and her little boy answered the door. We had a chat and she said to try back around later. We tried by again a few days later and the father opened the door. We had a little chat and he said to come back. So, we went back to his house a few days later and then his 18 year old son answered the door this time. He was asking us about our faith and how we know with such a conviction our the Gospel to be true. We taught the Restoration on the doorstep and he said to try back. We tried back again about a week later and no one answered. We were feeling a little bit down, and right when we were about to head home for tea, the 18 year old boy, connor, texted us and told us to come back! We went back and he invited us in and he had so many questions! We taught the first 2 lessons because he just wanted to learn more and more. He said he was skeptical at first about everything but that it all makes sense in his head. We are so excited about him and hopefully we can continue to teach him and his family!
I hope all is well back home and that you are all enjoying every single day! Even the hard ones. god is there and he does love us. Even the hard days are for our good and help us to remember to turn to Him in all things, 'Doubt not, Fear not'. Tell everyone how much I love them!

Love,
Elder Wilcox
